“Curry” de peste (ton) / Tuna Fish “Curry”

Ingrediente / Ingredients

Portii 4 / Serves 4
  • 1 ceapa / 1 onion
  • 1 ardei gras rosu / 1 red (bell) pepper
  • ½ ardei gras galben / ½ yellow (bell) pepper
  • ½ ardei gras verde / ½ green (bell) pepper
  • 30 ml ulei vegetal sau ulei de masline / 30 ml vegetable oil or olive oil
  • ¼ lingurita seminte de chimion /  ¼ tsp cumin seeds
  • ½ lingurita chimion macinat / ½ tsp ground cumin
  • ½ lingurita coriandru macinat / ½ tsp ground coriander
  • ½ lingurita praf de chilli / ½ tsp chilli powder
  • ¼ lingurita sare / ¼ tsp salt
  • 2 catei de usturoi, zdrobiti / 2 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 400 g ton la conserva in suc propriu, scurs / 400 g can tuna in brine, drained
  • 1 ardei iute verde proaspat, tocat fin / 1 fresh green chilli, finely chopped
  • 2.5 cm bucata radacina ghimbir proaspat, ras / 2.5 cm piece fresh root ginger, grated
  • ¼ lingurita garam masala / ¼ tsp garam masala
  • 1 lingurita suc de lamaie / 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 2 linguri coriandru proaspat tocat / 2 tbsp chopped fresh coriander
  • paine pita si raita de castraveti pentru servit / pita bread and cucumber raita, to serve

Mod de preparare / Method of preparation

1. Se feliaza subtire ceapa, ardeiul rosu, galben si verde, inlaturand semintele ardeilor. Thinly slice the onion and the red, yellow and green peppers, discarding the seeds from the peppers.


2. Se incinge uleiul intr-o karahi, wok sau tigaie masiva si se prajesc (stir fry) semintele de chimion timp de 2-3 minute pana incep sa se friga si sa sfaraie (sa pocneasca).
Heat the oil in a karahi, wok or heavy pan and stir fry the cumin seeds for 2-3 minutes until they begin to spit and splutter.


3. Se adauga chimionul macinat, coriandrul, praful de chilli si sarea si prajesc timp de 2-3 minute. Dupa aceea se adauga usturoiul, ceapa si ardeii.
Add the ground cumin, coriander, chilli powder and salt and cook for 2-3 minutes. Then add the garlic, onion and peppers.


 
4. Se frig legumele, amestecand din cand in cand, timp de 5-7 minute, pana cand ceapa se rumeneste.
Fry the vegetables, stirring from time to time, for 5-7 minutes until the onion has browned.
 
5. Se adauga tonul, ardeiul iute, ghimbirul si se prajesc 5 minute.
Stir in the tuna, green chilli and ginger and cook for 5 minutes.    



6. Se adauga garam masala, sucul de lamaie, coriandrul proaspat tocat si se continua prajirea pentru inca 3-4 minute.
Add the garam masala, lemon juice and chopped fresh coriander and continue to cook  for a further 3-4 minutes.


 
7. Se serveste cu paine pita calda si raita de castravete.
Serve with warmed  pitta bread and the cucumber raita.
